Battle Robot Radio

Where can you find a good quality transmitter for your battle robot radio? Most of the competitions require at the very least an FM radio, however you may be able to sneak by the rules with a good quality AM radio but this would likely result in poor or limited control of your robot. Controlling your robot is essentially half the battle, if your robot does not respond to your commands or does not move; you might as well just be destroyed. One of the most important investments in your robot will be your FM or PCM radio; this will provide reliable, quality control over your robot in through the most dense radio signals.

So what are some of the most important things to look for in a good radio transmitter for your battle robot? First you will want to be sure there at least 4 channels, 5 or 6 would be ideal. You will need only 2 channels to drive the robot, but you never know what kind of modifications or special systems you might implement. Optimally you will want to look for Dual Rate controls, which will enhance the speed and responsiveness of your battle robot. Finding dual rate controls may be pricey but will be worth it in the long run. Do not forget to get the radio in the 75 MHz frequency; anything higher could possibly cause disturbances to air traffic or higher frequency channels. Your decision on which type of radio you choose, is ultimately a very large one. Losing your match due to unresponsiveness is not an acceptable answer; your battle robot should be able to receive commands at any time. The moment you cannot do that, the match is most likely already over or about to be. So where do you want to go to purchase these high powered, industrialized radio’s? They are not hard to find; most electronic shops will carry most types of radio transmitters, but you will need to shop around and do not be afraid to ask questions. Your goal is to find the most durable, reliable, steadfast radio that will transmit to your battle robot in even the worst of conditions.

Whether you are a hobbyist, or a full time battle robot designer; the source of power for every battle is in your mind. The operator controls the robot to its full extent, its movement, its attacks, dodges, basically anything and everything your robot does inside of that arena. All of these of which are controlled using a radio control device and transmitted to your battle robot so I’m sure you can see how integral it is to have a properly transmitting radio signal between the two units. Your search for the best quality battle robot radio must continue.

“The idea that we can actually build these ships is really nice. But then it seems a little pointless to go out and run them around just to have them look nice. A natural extension was to figure out a way for them to actually do battle.
